How to validate and extract data from ID Card automatically

Modified on Tue, 23 Jan 2024 at 03:24 PM

First of all...

Using the ID Card Extraction method requires us to activate this feature in your Company Account, so if you need this please contact our Support team. Once available in your account, you'll have to apply to one or more DocTypes to be validated as ID Card (this works also for Driving License and Passport)

Please note: If you need it, we can also validate and extract data from other document type like IBAN, Cheque, Credit Card or more complexe document. Contact us if you have specific needs

How to configure

Firstly you have to choose/create the needed document type in your company.

Just navigate to Settings -> Document types and click on the “Create” button, if you need a new one, or click on the “Edit” button, if you need to modify an existing Document type.

In Data Extraction Method, Choose "ID Card" then save changes.

From now on, when this type of document will be sent by a candidate, it will be parsed and you can see results on the Candidate Details page.

How to see my extracted data

From a Candidate Details, click on the document details. You'll get a new block with all data extracted from this document. Click on "Details" to have an expanded view of all the fields available. You can adapt any value by using the "Edit" button

What to do with received data

The CheckHub platform provides different ways to interact with the parsed data.

  • Validation. You can add validation rules for your document type. It helps to understand quickly if the document is valid for your needs.
  • Input masks. Rename field name, hide what is not relevant for your case. You can even import some data into your candidate fields or custom fields. Some examples:
    • Update your candidate name with the name extracted from the ID Card)
    • Import your ID card number into your candidate custom field.
  • Push data via API. If you work with external system, you can fetch any extracted data from documents using our API and import into your workflow.

In any case, if you have any questions regarding automated Data Extraction from document please contact us, we will help you.
