In certain business processes, it may be essential to start with a preliminary form before proceeding further. This could be necessary for several reasons:
- You need additional information from your contact to decide what documents to request.
- You require the contact to acknowledge legal terms before continuing.
What is a Preliminary Form?
A preliminary form is similar to a regular editable form, but it is presented to the contact right after the welcome screen as a mandatory step. This form supports conditional displays and post-actions mechanisms, just like any other form.
How to Set a Form as Preliminary
- Go to Settings > Form and locate the form you want to set as Preliminary. Click on Edit.
- Open the Property box on the right side, and check the "Preliminary" option.
- Save your changes. From now on, selecting this form in a Contact will automatically set it as a preliminary form (you can always adjust this parameter).
You can only set one preliminary form per process.
Maximizing Efficiency with Post-Action
When combined with "Post-Action," a preliminary form can efficiently gather the necessary information to request specific documents and provide a customized experience. For detailed steps on using post-actions, refer to our [guideline for post-action].
